What can a chair tell you about a workshop?

All photography by the awesome Dan Scott:

Depends on the chair. Depends on the workshop.

At the DO/YOU Workshop at the idyllic Hay Studio next month we, and by extension you, will be spoilt for choice for chairs.

Fancy a bit of Bauhaus?; park it on a Marcel Breuer B34.

Perhaps Arne Jacobsen’s equally iconic, Keeler chair is more de rigueur for your derrière?

We’ve even got a couple of Charlotte Perriand chairs knocking about from the Le Corbusier studio.

Great brands, with compelling histories, but it’s your brand story we’re really interested in on the day. Because, we hasten to add, the most important part of any workshop is of course, the course.

It’s just that if we put so much effort into the seating arrangements, not to mention the coffee, the food, even the pencils we think it’ll be a pretty good bet that we mean business with the main event.

So what else can you expect on the day, in addition to a pretty comfortable seat at the table?

Essentially, and crucially, DO/YOU will show you how to build a strong, personal, online brand. Exploring 3 key principles that apply to the modern executive:

Essentially, and crucially, DO/YOU will show you how to build a strong, personal, online brand. Exploring 3 key principles that apply to the modern business:

1. Everyone is a ‘Brand’. (Oh yes you are.)

2. Everyone is a Media Owner. (Potentially.)

3. Everyone is a Creative Director.(If you want to be.)

We’ll expand on, and have practical exercises around the 4 to-do’s of a professional presence online:

1. A stellar Profile.

2. Awesome Content.

3. A Powerful Network.

4. Consistent Engagement.

We’ll also examine, discuss and hopefully have fun, with the following:

If you’ve got it, flaunt it.
If you haven’t got it, learn it.

Platforms. (Go for the the stable and staple ones. Avoid the shiny new-thing, thing.)

Creative Oomph. (Not all creatives work in the creative department.) Where do great ideas come from?

What to do when you’re creatively stuck. (We’re going to go big or go home in terms of creativity on this one.)

How to write. (Really. Most people can’t.)

Social photography. How to see. Where to share.

Super-charge your content calendar. (You do have a content calendar don’t you?) A personal content calendar?

Deep work.

You don’t need permission. You don’t need money. You do need time. (But maybe less than you think.)

Epic creative productivity Hacks.

Who is this workshop for?

From Solopreneur to CEO.

Start-up to family firmer:

In fact anybody who wants to creatively kick their online profile/presence up a gear.

DO/YOU Workshops: Maybe you should book a seat now.

When and where?:

Friday October 21st 2016: Full Day: 10.00pm-5.00pm.

The Hay Studio, Cornwall: PL30 3AJ. Book here.

Copy Jury.
